Welcome, parents, to Studio 12, Huntsville's new weekend music and dance club for teens seventh grade through high-school. Our objective is simple - to give teens a viable, fun, and safe place to go.
On many occasions, adults with good intentions expend great efforts in planning events for kids that in the end don't seem to go as well as planned. The reason is most teens feel like they need a break from all the adult planned things in their lives. They kinda think along the same lines that we did when we were that age. They ultimately want to feel like they are the ones in charge of their weekend social life, and fun!
The big question is: How do we (the adults) facilitate all of that and still feel good about where our kids are, and what they're up to?
One answer might be to find them an extremely cool place to go. A high energy dance club atmosphere that rocks and plays their kind of music. A place that includes games and contests where they can socialize, dance, interact, and yet remain safe from situations that can arise where you might have alcohol and older people.

As a parent of five children and a foster parent of several others; a former scout master and church youth organization leader; an advocate and supporter of Huntsville's Promise - Youth Leadership and Development Program; I can assure you that while Studio 12 Huntsville is a place that rocks, it is also a well chaperoned and safe environment for our teens, free from alcohol and influence from older people.

LOCATION: Studio 12 Huntsville is located at: 1024 12th Street Huntsville, TX 77340 (accross from the Old Town Theater).
AGE REQUIREMENT: Studio 12 is for teenagers who are in 7th grade through High School only. This includes public, private, and home school.
COST: The cover charge is $5.00 per person per night.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Friday & Saturday 7:30 to 11:30pm.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Teens who wish to come in must be able to show current proof of enrollment in 7th grade through High School (public, private, or home school). i.e. School ID or letter from parents if attending home or private school, or be accompanied in by a parent. And, while paying their $5.00 cover charge, they will be asked to sign-in with their name, and an emergency contact (a parent or guardian) telephone number.
SAFETY & SECURITY: When inside Studio 12, all teenage club patrons will be under our direct supervision. If for any reason, other than a verified emergency, a child wishes to leave before closing time, he or she will be free to do so, but their departure will be closely monitored so as to not facilitate non brothers & sisters, or dates (the people they came into Studio 12 with) leaving together without their parents or guardians permission. Also, please know that as parents ourselves, we have thought through many security & protective measures so that our door operator/security people, club management & workers, and chaperones will be able to do everything within their reasonable power to remain keenly aware of all inappropriate and suspicious behavior. Studio 12 Huntsville will continue to build upon and do everything to improve measures for a safe and secure environment for our teens. Please note however, that Studio 12 or any of it's owner/operators, employees, chaperones, or anyone directly associated with Studio 12 Huntsville will not be liable for anyone outside the Studio 12 facility.
CONDUCT & BEHAVIOR: While Studio 12 Huntsville Management is not by any means a bunch of strict ole stick in the mud intolerant types - we are committed to providing a clean, safe, and worry free atmosphere for our youth. With this in mind, if, after being approached by any Studio 12 management, a club patron continues to engage in disruptive or irresponsible behavior, i.e. making-out, inappropriate dirty dancing, loud, disruptive & lewd behavior, or anything else deemed by club management to be inappropriate & disruptive, they will be asked to leave. If this happens, Studio 12 Huntsville management will make every reasonable effort to notify that persons parent or guardian (by way of the above mentioned emergency contact number). After that however, Studio 12, or any of the above mentioned associates of Studio 12 Huntsville, will not be responsible, nor held liable for where that teen goes.
SPECIAL NOTE: If anyone is discovered to be carrying alcohol, drugs, pornography, or weapons of any type, they will automatically be asked to leave, and the police will be immediately notified
Finally, parents are invited, and should feel perfectly free to come in and visit with club management and even participate as a chaperone as the need permits, or simply hang out with us for as long as you like. We understand that the ultimate key to our success at Studio 12 rests with parents feeling that it is a good, safe, fun, and worthwhile place for their children to go on Friday & Saturday nights.
